Did you know that when your printed project is finished, Kendall Press can also manage your mailing services too? In this busy world, why not let us help save you time, energy and money! We will work with you to make sure that you will receive the lowest postage rate and the best possible delivery times on your mailings.

In this blog, I would like to give you an overview of our services and explain how we can help you reach your target audience thus giving you the greatest return on your mailing.

The Oh-So Important Address List

Why is the address list so important to your mailing? You have gone through a lot of time and expense to create a mail piece that is attractive and effective. Now let’s get it into your customer’s hands. If it is not addressed properly, it will result in returned mail, wasted postage, and possibly loss of business. In order to get you the best postage rates, we need to start with a properly formatted mailing list. When creating your database, remember that the first row in your spreadsheet should contain the headers for your data. For example, the headers for a typical mailing might be: Name, Address 1, Address 2, City, State and Postal Code. If you are planning to personalize a letter, you will want to separate the name column into two fields, First Name, and Last Name. If your printed piece contains variable data, then you will need the appropriately titled columns for the data you will want merged. The column for your zip code will need to be coded as such. To do this, highlight the whole column, right click and select format cells. Scroll down to Special and choose Zip Code or Zip Code + 4 for the type.

CASS Certification and Intelligent Bar Coding

CASS is a United States Postal Service (USPS) acronym for Coding Accuracy Support System.  According to the USPS, over 45 million Americans move every year. That is a huge number and some of them could be your customers. Once we receive your mailing list, we will take the data that you provided and run it through our advanced mail presort technology to determine if there are duplicate records, incomplete addresses or if the addressee has moved from the address provided. This way, we can be sure that the mailing will have a high percentage of delivery success. The list will be CASS Certified which means that the address list has been checked against the USPS Address Matching System and the 11-digit delivery point zip code and corresponding barcode will be added. We will check to make sure that you mail piece meets all the requirements to take advantage of the postal discounts.

Pulling it all together

Whether it is putting a simple, one-page letter in an envelope or a multi-piece marketing kit (letter, several brochures, training CD, reply form, etc.), we can put it all together for you accurately and fast.

Kendall Press has the ability to take your mailing piece from design through delivery to the post office. We specialize in mailing services project management. There is no need to have your mailing project designed at one place, printed at another and then mailed from a third place. Let us save you time and manage the whole process for you!
